Rudolf Steiner´s blackboard drawings

During his lectures Rudolf Steiner wrote or drew quite often on blackboards. In order to preserve these drawings Emma Stoll initiated from 1919 onwards the covering with black cardboards. In the course of the following years more than 1000 drawings were collected, which were published within the “Gesamtausgabe” in a compact form and have been exhibited since 1992 in museums worldwide.

Already in the 1950ies, Rudolf Steiner´s co-worker Assja Turgenieff had viewed the blackboards under artistic aspects and exhibited some in Dornach. The first bigger public exhibition took place 1991 at the gallery Monika Sprüth in Cologne. Exhibitions all over the world followed. Some of them are documented in catalogues, which you can order through our shop.
